Solution

The correct option is C Falciparum
Malaria is caused by a digenetic (have two hosts to complete its life cycle) and triphasic (having three phases of life cycle) protozoan parasite Plasmodium. There are four main types of malaria caused by 4 different species of Plasmodim (P.ovale,P.malariae,P.falciparaum and P.vivax). The most serious form of malaria is caused by Plasmodium falciparum. It causes cerebral malaria or malignant tertian malaria where fever recurs after every 48 horus and it could be life-threatening.
Hence, the correct answer is C.
