For the next academic year, there is a proposal to increase the number of candidates appearing for these exams by 40%, 60% and 85% respectively. What will be the ratio of the number of candidates appearing for the entrance exams in the next academic year?

The ratio of number of candidates is 4:5:6.

Let the number of candidates for the three entrance exams be 4k, 5k and 6k respectively.

After increasing, number of candidates become **(140% of 4k)**, **(160% of 5k)** & **(185% of 6k)** →140×4k100,160×5k100 and 185×6k100 = 56k10, 80k10 and 111k10.

∴ The required new ratio = 56:80:111
