Question

The number of hydrogen atoms present in 25.6 gm of sucrose C12H22O11 WHICH HAS MOLAR MASS 342.3 gm is

Open in App
Solution

No. of moles of sucrose = 25.6/342.3 = 0.074 mol

No. of sucrose molecules in 1 mol = 6.022X10^23
No. of sucrose molecules in 0.075 mol of sucrose = 6.022X10^23 X 0.074 = 4.503 X 10^22
No. of hydrogen atoms in one molecule sucrose(C12H22O11) = 22
Therefore, no. of H-atom in 4.503 X 10^22 molecules = 22X 4.503 X 10^22 = 9.91 X 10^23
