Given :
The polynomial equation
x4x2+2x1=0x4(x22x+1)=0(x2)2(x1)2=0(x2x+1)(x2+x1)=0x2x+1=0 or x2+x1=0

we know that x2+x1=0 has two real roots , and x2x+1=0 has no real roots.
Hence x4x2+2x1=0 has 2 real roots.
