Solution

When x is decreased by m %, new x=xmx100
And when y is increased by (m+10) %, new y=y+(m+10)y100
Given, the results are equal
xmx100=y+(m+10)y100
=>100xmx=100y+my+10y
=>100xmx=110y+my
=>mx+my=100x110y
=>m(x+y)=100x110y
m=100x110yx+y
When, xy=52
x=5y2
Putting value of x in m
we get m=100(5y2)110y5y2+y=500y220y5y+2y=2807=40
