58 m2, 290


Since the door is not to be painted, we have to subtract the area of door from that of wall's area.

Area of the wall =8 m×8 m=64 m2

Area of the door =3 m×2 m=6 m2

Area to be painted =646=58 m2

cost = ₹ 5 per m2

Cost of painting =58×5= 290
