The perimeter of a rectangular field is 35km. If the length of the field is twice its width, find the area of the rectangle in sq.metres.

Let the width of the rectangular field =xm
Then, the length of the rectangular field 2xm
Now, perimeter of the field 35km=35×1000m=600m
2(l+b)=600
l+b=300
2x+x=300
3x=300
x=100
Now, width of the field =100m
Length of the field =2×100=200m
Now, Area of rectangle =l×b=200×100
Area of rectangle =20000m2
