Step 1: Finding the breadth of the rectangle

Given the perimeter of the rectangle is480cm and its length is 140cm

The perimeter of the rectangle =2(l+b)

2(140+b)=480140+b=4802140+b=240b=240-140b=100cm

Step 2: Finding the area of the rectangle:

Area of the rectangle =length×breadth

=140×100=14000cm2

We know that

100cm2=1m214000cm2=140×10014000cm2=140m2

Hence the area of the rectangle is 140m2.
