Let △ABC and △DEF be two similar triangles of perimeters P1 and P2 respectively.
Also, let AB=12 cm, P1=30 cm and P2=20 cm.
Then,
ABDE=BCEF=ACDF=P1P2 [∵ Ration of corresponding sides of similar triangles is equal to the ratio of their perimeters]
⇒ABDE=P1P2
⇒12DE=3020
⇒DE=12×2030cm=8cm
Hence, the corresponding side of the second triangle is 8 cm
