  • We know pH=log([H+])
So,when [H+]=106M, we may neglect concentration of water.
pH=log(106)=6
  • Now, [H+]=107M
Here we have to consider concentration of water i.e. 107M
So total concentration of H+=2×107M
Hence, pH=log(2×107)=6.79

  • Now, [H+]=107M
  • Here we have to consider concentration of water i.e. 107M
    So total concentration of H+=108+107M=1.1×107M
    Hence, pH=log(1.1×107)=6.98
