For an acidic buffer solution, we use the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation
Or
pH=pKa+log[salt][acid]
So Case I
pH1=pKa+log[salt1][acid1]....(1)
So Case 2
pH2=pKa+log[salt2][acid2]....(2)
According to question,
(2)-(1) =2; pKa terms will get cancelled we get
2 = log[acid1]×[salt2][salt1]×[acid2]
taking antilog and solving
[acid1]×[salt2][salt1]×[acid2]=102
When the concentration of salt is increased by 10 times and concentration of acid is decreased by 10 times, then we get this ratio.
