The picture frame shown alongside has outer dimensions $20 \times 24$ and inner dimensions $12 \times 16$ . Find the area of each section of the frame.

Dimension of the outer side $= 20 \times 24$
Dimension of inner side $= 12 \times 16$

From the figure, $A I = I H = B P = C P = D K = K E = N F = F G$

$A F = A I + I N + N F$

$\Rightarrow 24 = A I + 16 + N F$

$\Rightarrow A I + N F = 24 - 16 = 8$ cm.

Hence $A I = N F = 4$ cm.

Hence $A I = I H = N G = N F = K E = K D = C P = P B = 4$ cm

Area of section $I T A N =$ Area of section $K R S P$

$= \frac{1}{2} \times (20 + 24) \times 4$ sq.cm

$= 88$ sq.cm

We know that Area of section $P I T S =$ Area of section $N K R A$
