Solution

Dear Student,
Here is the solution of your asked query:
Let the number of male population was x and number of female population was y.So, total number of population = x+y=50000x+y=50000 ...(i)When male population was increased by 5% and female population was increased by 3%, we have;x+x×5100+y+y×3100=52020x+x20+y+3y100=5202021x20+103y100=52020105x+103y=5202000 ...(ii)Multiplying (i) by 105 and subtracting (ii) from (i) we get;105x+105y-105x-103y=5250000-52020002y=48000y=24000Then, from (i) we get;x=50000-24000 = 26000Therefore, number of male population was 26000 and number of female population was 24000
