Let the sale price(S.P) be x
Total amount is given by
Total amount= Sale prices + Sales tax
13407 = x + 9% of x
$13407=x+\frac{9}{100}\times x$
$\frac{109}{100}x=13407$
$x=\frac{13407\times 100}{109}=12300$
Now if the Sales tax is increased to 13% amount which the customer need to pay will be
Total amount = x+ 13% of x
Total amount = $12300+\frac{13}{100}\times 12300$
=12300 + 1599

= Rs. 13899
So, the extra amount which the customer needs to pay is
13899-13407=Rs. 492
