Solution

The correct option is B 60 paise
Sugar price is reduced by 10% as a result of which a customer can by 5kg more rice for Rs.270
Say the price of rice per Kg is Rs.x
Then for Rs.270 he could be 270x Kg of rice
The price is reduced by 10% and the new price is Rs.9x10.
Then, now he can by 270/(9x/10) Kg of rice for Rs.270
Given,
2709x10270x=5
300x270x=5
x=6
Original price is Rs.6 and the reduced price is Rs.5.4
difference is 60 paise (Option B).
