Solution

The correct option is A 6
The wheel has 5 sections in it.
So, probability of choosing the red color=15

A dice has the following numbers on its faces - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Multiples of 2 = 2, 4, 6.

So, probability of getting a multiple of 2 on the dice=26=13

Combining both the possibilites, we get:

So, getting red colour and a multiple of 2 = 3 favorable outcomes.

Total number of possible outcomes = 15

Probability=Number of favorable outcomesTotal number of possible outcomes

=315=15

It is expressed in the question as XY.

So, X = 1 and Y = 5.

∴ Value of X + Y = 1 + 5 = 6.
