Solution

The correct option is B

Denitrification

Nitrogen fixation is a process in which atmospheric nitrogen (N2) is converted into ammonia (NH3). Ammonification is the process of conversion of organic nitrogen into ammonium ions with the help of bacteria and fungi. In the nitrogen cycle all the ammonium ions and ammonia are converted to nitrates in a process called nitrification. In the process of denitrification, the nitrates are converted back to atmospheric nitrogen completing the nitrogen cycle. This process is also carried out by certain bacteria.
