Now, sum of finite geometric series 1,r,r2,.....,rn1 with common ration r is given by
1+r+r2+.....+rn1=1rn1r ...... (1)
Then, we have
1+x2+x4+x34=(x2)181x21=x361x21(2)
and
1+x+x2+x17=x181x1(3)

Dividing (2) with (3), we get

1+x181+x=x17x16+........+x
