Solution

The correct option is C 80 N
Given:
Radius of earth Re=6400 km
Radius of earth RM=3200 km

Let, mass of Mars =MM
mass of earth =Me

Weight of the particle of mass m at the surface of the earth is

We=mge=mGMeRe2 .......(1)

Similarly, weight at the surface of Mars

WM=mgM=mGMMRM2 ......(2)

dividing eq. (1) to (2)

WeWM=(MeMM)(RMRe)2

200WM=10×(12)2 [MeMM=10]

WM=200×410=80 N

Hence, option (c) is correct.
