Question

The radius of the base of a cone is 14cm and its slant height is 50cm. Find the curved surface area and total surface area of the cone.

Given:
The base radius of cone (r)=14cm.
Slant height (I) =50cm:.
Curved surface area of cone = πrl=227×14×50
=2200cm2
And total surface area of cone =πr(1+r)
=227×14×(50+14)
=22×2×64
=2816cm2
Hence, curved surface area 2200cm2 and total surface area =2816cm2
