Question

The roof of a house is of size 20 m×15 m. It is to covered by rectangular tiles of 10 cm×5 cm. How many tiles will be required? Also find the cost of tiling at the rate of Rs 525 per sq. metre.

Given Dimension of roof are =20m×15m
area of roof 20×15=300 m2
area of 1 reactangular tile =10×5=50cm2
then Total no. of tiles required =areaofroofareaof1tile
Total no. of tiles =30050=60,000
60,000 tiles are required
Now cost of tiles 300m2=525×300Rs.
Total cost =15,7500Rs.
