Solution

The correct option is D 20%
Let the original salary be x

Given that the salary is increased by 25%

Therefore, the increased salary is x+0.25x=1.25x

To restore the original salary, let the salary be decreased by y%

Therefore, 1.25x0.01y(1.25x)=x

1.250.0125y=1

0.0125y=0.25

y=20%

Therefore, to restore the original salary, the salary should be decreased by 20%
