Reaction:
$Z n + H_{2} S O_{4} \to Z n (S O_{4}) + H_{2}$
$Z n + 2 N a O H + 2 H_{2} O$ $\to$ $N a_{2} [Z n (O H)_{4}]$ + $H_{2}$
So, ratio of hydrogen gas is $x / y = 1 / 1$
So, x+y =1+1 = 2.
