The side of a rhombus is 10 cm and one of its diagonals is 16 cm. Find its area.
The correct option is
A
96 cm2
Area of rhombus =2×area ofΔ ABC
Area of one triangle whose sides are 10cm, 10cm, 16 cm is given by -
S =10+10+162 = 18 cm
Now, area of triangle = √18(18−10)(18−10)(18−16)
= √18(8)(8)(2)
= √(9)(2)(8)(8)(2)
=8×2×3=48
Hence, area of rhombus =2×48=96 cm2
