The next homologue of Propanone is butanone having the molecular formula C4H8O

Reaction of Propanone with NH2OH:

Propanone reacts with NH2OH, acetoxime will be formed with by the elimination of water molecule.


Reaction of butanone with NH2OH:

Butanone reacts with NH2OH, an oxime will be formed with the elimination of the water molecule.
