Let $x$ be the number of students in the class.
Thus, amount deposited by a student is Rs. $x$
If, each student deposits Rs. $x$ for Prime Ministers National Relief Fund in a class of $x$ students, then the total sum donated by the class $=x^2$
Now,
$x^2=2401$
$\Rightarrow x=\sqrt{2401}$
$=\sqrt{7\times 7\times 7\times 7}$
$=7\times 7$
$=49$
Thus, the number of students in the class $=49$
