Let the present ages of two brothers be x and y years respectively.

x + y = 25…(i)

x – y = 3 …(ii)

On subtracting (ii) from (i), we get

2y = 22

Or x = 25 – 11 = 14

Hence, the ages of the two brothers are 14 years and 11 years.
