The sum of the first 10 whole numbers and ten highest negative integers be X . Find the value of X .

first 10 whole numbers are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
ten highest negative numbers are -1,-2,-3,-4,-5,-6,-7,-8,-9,-10
as the magnitude increases negative numbers become small
the highest negative number is -1,then -2, and so on
so first 10 largest negative numbers are as given above

The sum of the first 10 whole numbers and ten highest negative integers = X
(0+1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9)+{(-1)+(-2)+(-3)+(-4)+(-5)+(-6)+(-7)+(-8)+(-9)+(-10)} = X
-10 = X other numbers cancel each other on addition as they are negatives to eachother 1+ -1=0,2+ -2=0 and so on
X=-10
