Question

The sum of two equal angles of an isosceles triangle is half of its third angle. Find the magnitude of each angle

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

Let the equal angles of isosceles triangle be x
Therefore x+ x+ third angle = 180 (by angle sum property of triangle)
Therefore third angle = 180-2x
But according to question 2x = (180-2x)/2
4x + 2x = 180
X = 30
Hence the angles are 30, 30, and 120.
