And, According to question,
$(x+y)=3\cdot (x-y)$

substitute the value of y we get
$\Rightarrow (x+10)=3\cdot (x-10)$
$\Rightarrow x-3x=-30-10$
$\Rightarrow -2x=-40$
$\Rightarrow x=20$
So, the required number is $20.$
