Solution

The correct option is C Who cannot produce an ovum
GIFT
Gamete intra fallopian transfer (GIFT) is a technique in which the functional ovum from a donor female is transferred to the fallopian tube of another female who cannot produce ovum but can provide the suitable environment for further development.

Surrogacy
Females who cannot retain the foetus inside the uterus or cannot provide a suitable environment for implantation of embryo and its further development get the embryo nurtured in the uterus of another female. This female who supports pregnancy till full term is called the surrogate mother, although she does not contribute genetically to the baby.

IVF
In vitro fertilisation is an assisted reproductive technique in which the sperm from the male partner and egg from the female partner are collected and allowed to fertilise outside the female body in a test tube. The fertilised ovum is transferred into the female reproductive tract (fallopian tube: ZIFT or uterus: IUT, depending on the developmental stage of the zygote) for further development.
Hence, a lady unable to provide a suitable environment for fertilisation can rely on this technique.

ICSI
Females having a narrow cervical canal to allow passage of sperm can rely on intra cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). It is the technique of directly injecting sperms in the cytoplasm of the ovum. The embryo formed can be transferred into a suitable mother for further development.

Final answer
(a). Who cannot produce an ovum
