Solution

The correct option is A Vegetative nucleus and two male gametes
Correct Answer: Vegetative nucleus and two male gametes.

Reason: Pollen grain is first cell of male gametophyte. The size of the nucleus increases and it divides mitotically to produce a bigger vegetative cell or tube cell and a smaller generative cell. At this stage, the dehiscence of anther takes place and the two celled pollen grains are released. In large majority of flowering plants, pollen is shed at two celled stage. The tube nucleus descends to the tip of the pollen tube and finally gets degenerated. The generative cell passes into the pollen tube and divides into 2 male gametes.
