The transgenic animals are those that have________.
foreign DNA in all its cells
The term transgenic animal refers to an animal in which there has been a deliberate modification of the genome. Foreign DNA is introduced into the animal, using recombinant DNA technology and then transmitted through the germ line so that every cell, including germ cells of the animal, contain the same modified genetic material. Introduction of a new gene or part of a gene is done to have added better properties of a particular character.
Few examples of transgenic organisms are BT cotton (diseases resistance), Golden rice( production of vitamin A).
