What would you observe if you replace Iron nails with an identical Steel nail?

  1. The given figure is the construction of an electromagnet.
  2. An electromagnet is a temporary magnet.
  3. It is because it generates a magnetic field around it when current is supplied & when we stop the current, it loses its magnetic properly.
  4. Iron metal has the capacity to easily get magnetised and demagnetise with the passage of current but not the Steel.
  5. So if the iron nail is replaced by a Steel nail, there will be no formation of an electromagnet.
