Given
Mass of aluminium (ma)=20 g
Specific heat of aluminium (ca)=0.2 cal g1 C1

Water equivalent of a body is defined as the mass of water which would absorb or release the same amount of heat as the body in rising or falling through the same range of temperature.
Heat given to aluminium (Ha)=ma×ca×ΔT ....(1)
Heat given to water (Hw)=mw×cw×ΔT .....(2)
From (1) and (2), we get
Water equivalent (mw)=macacw
We know that,specific heat capacity of water (cw)=1 cal g1 C1
Hence, water equivalent (mw)=20×0.21=4 g
Thus, option (b) is the correct answer.
