Say:
There are 356 candies.

Let us calculate the additional number of candies Nutsy needs by expanding the numbers.
Steps:
356=300+50+6
756=700+50+6
So, number of more candies needed =756356=400
1 hundred =10 tens
So, 4 hundreds =4 times 10=40 tens
