Present ratio of number of boys to number of girls

$=6:8=\frac{3\times 2}{4\times 2}=3:4$

After 6 boys are added, new ratio

$=(6+6):8=12:8=\frac{3\times 4}{2\times 4}=\frac{3}{2}=3:2$

$\therefore$ The consequent term decreases by 2 from 4 to 2.
