Let the number of flowers be =x
Let the number of bees be =y
According to given
If one bee lands on each flower, one bee will be left means
yx=1 ...........(1)
If two bees land on each flower, one flower will be left
xy2=1 ..........(2)
Add both equations:
xy2=1
y2=2
y=4
Thus x=41=3
Number of bees =4 and the number of flowers =3.
