Stem cells are self-renewable and undifferentiated cells found in the human body and have the ability to develop into many different types of specialized cells such as brain cell, blood cell etc.
In some parts of the body, such as the gut and bone marrow, stem cells regularly divide to produce new body tissues for maintenance and repair. Stem cells are present inside different types of tissue. These stem cells come from embryos that are three to five days old and from adult tissue like bone marrow and fat.
