Solution

The correct option is A Game A by 1210 pieces
To identify which type of puzzle game has more number of pieces, we have to find out the total number of pieces in each puzzle game.

Let us look at Game A.

Number of puzzles = 66
Number of pieces in each puzzle = 33

∴ Total number of pieces in Game A
= 66 × 33

Let us solve this using partitioning method.

The expanded form of (66 × 33) is:

Let's draw a table and write 60 and 6 on top of the second and third columns and 30 and 3 in the first column of the second and third rows.

Now, we fill the table by multiplying the numbers in the corresponding rows and columns.

At last, we add all the products to get the final answer:
1,800 + 180 + 180 + 18 = 2,178

Hence, there are 2,178 puzzle pieces altogether in Game A.

Now, let us look at Game B.

Number of puzzles = 22
Number of pieces in each puzzle = 44

∴ Total number of pieces in Game B
= 22 × 44

Let us solve this using partitioning method.

The expanded form of (22 × 44) is:

Let's draw a table and write 20 and 2 on top of the second and third columns and 40 and 4 in the first column of the second and third rows.

Now, we fill the table by multiplying the numbers in the corresponding rows and columns.

At last, we add all the products to get the final answer:
800 + 80 + 80 + 8 = 968

Hence, there are 968 puzzle pieces altogether in Game B.

Now, 2178 > 968

So, Game A has more number of pieces.

Let us subtract the number of pieces of Game B from Game A.

This shows that Game A has 1,210 pieces of puzzle more than Game B.
