Now, let's find the areas of each part one by one:
As we know, a square has area =side2
Also, Area of a triangle =12×Base×Height
Now, Let's calculate the area covered in green, i.e. I+II
Area I=12×4×3=6 sq. units.
Area II=12×4×(10−4)=12 sq. units.
∴Area I+Area II=12+6=18 sq. units.
Area covered by green grass =18 sq. units.
Similarly, let's calculate the area of III&IV
Now, Area ofIII=12×3×(10−4)=9 sq. units
And, Area ofIV=4×4=16 sq. units
⇒Area III+Area IV
=9+16=25 sq. units.
Area covered by pink grass =25 sq. units
