Solution

Dear student,
The smoke stacks of thermal power plant release toxic gases and harmful particulate matter in the environment. This affects the physical, biological and chemical characteristics of the natural resources like wind, water and land.

The precaution to be taken is to remove these harmful gases released into nature and to filter them out. The particulate matter released from the exhaust of industries can be removed by electrostatic precipitators. It contains charged electrodes which produces electrons that attracts the dust particles and remove them.
