Solution

Part A:

  1. The motion of a pendulum is oscillatory as it moves between two extreme positions from its mean position.
  2. It is also called periodic as the motion of the pendulum repeats itself after a fixed interval of time.

Part B:

  1. The motion of the earth around the sun is not oscillatory as it does not move to two extreme positions from its mean position.
  2. It is periodic as the earth revolves around the sun at a fixed interval of 365 days.
