Question

This Question is about Gravitation :-

According to the Newton's law of gravitation Earth's gravitational force is higher on an object of larger mass .why doesn't that object fall down with higher velocity as compared to an object will lower mass?

Solution

According to Newton's 2nd law F=ma

So as the mass increases, The force required to move/accelerate the mass also increases which keeps the acceleration a constant. A lighter body will require less force and a heavier body will require more force.

The acceleration ( and velocity )is hence independent of the mass.
