Thomas and Manoj started a business together. Thomas invested RS. $60000$ and Manoj Rs. $40000$
Rs. $5000$ got as profit in one week. If they divide this in the ratio of their investment, how much rupees each one will get?

Ratio of investment of Thomas and Manoj $=\frac{60000}{40000}=\frac{3}{2}$

Let Thomas get profit of =$3x$

and let Manoj get profit of =$2x$

Now, as per question

$3x+2x=5000$

$5x=5000$

$x=1000$

So Thomas get profit of $=3\times 1000=Rs.3000$

and Manoj get profit of $=2\times 1000=Rs.2000$
