Though the success of Green revolution has made India self sufficient in food but it is also responsible for degradation of environment. Do you agree? Justify and suggest the ways to reduce the consumption of chemicals.

Green revolution has revolutionised the area of food and crops.
It has degraded the envirnment through the use of insecticides,pesticides,syntetic fertiliser etc.
water bodies and soil has become polluted due to excessive use of chemicals.
More deforestation has taken place for the agriculture etc.
It can be reduced by switching to organic fertilisers ,green manure etc.
