Solution

The correct option is C

45

Explanation of the correct option.

Let's assume P(A) is the probability of winning race by A, P(B) is the probability of winning race by B and P(C) is the probability of winning race by C.

Given : P(A)=P(B)=2P(C)

We know that, 2P(C)+2P(C)+P(C)=1

⇒P(C)=15

Therefore, P(A)=P(B)=25.

Thus the probability that the race win by A or B is given by P(A)+P(B)

P(A)+P(B)=25+25=45

Therefore the probability that the race win by A or B is 45.

Hence, option (C) is the correct option, i.e. 45.
