Now, we have
$3x+2y=1850$ .....(i)
$5x+3y=2850$ .....(ii)
Multiplying (i) by 5 and (ii) by 3, we get
$15x+10y=9250$ .....(1)
$15x+9y=8550$ ......(2)
Subtracting (2) from (1), we get
$y=700$
Substituting the value of y in (i) we get
$3x+1400=1850$
$\Rightarrow 3x=450$
$\Rightarrow x=150$
$\Rightarrow x+y=850$
