Question

Three coins are tossed together. Find the probability of getting all heads

Open in App
Solution

The possible outcomes when three coins are tossed together are
{HHH,TTT,THT,TTH,HHT,HTH,THH,HTT}. Therefore, the number of possible outcomes when two coins are tossed is 8.

Now, the possible outcome of getting all heads is {HHH}, which means the number of favourable outcome is 1.

Therefore, probability P of getting all heads is:

P=18

Hence, the probability of getting all heads is 18.
