Question

Three different electrolytes A,B,C are connected in separate circuits. Electrolytic cell A contains sodium chloride solution. When the circuit is completed a bulb in the circuit glows brightly. Electrolytic cell B contains acetic acid solution, and in this case the bulb in the circuit glows brightly. The electrolytic cell C contains sugar solution and the bulb does not glow. Give a reason for each of these observation?

1. Electricity is conducted by charged particles such as electron,proton,ions etc.
2. Sodium chloride solution and acetic acid solution contains ions such as Na+,Cl-,CH3COO- and H+.
3. Sugar solution does not contain any ions so it does not conduct electricity.
